What is sweep in solid works

Solid works is a 3D part modeling software. It is basically deal with the solid part model. Now day’s solid works become popular software in industries, this is because of its simple and easy learning of its window or easy way to operate the tools.

If we discuss about the sweep tool, it is a part of the part modeling module and according to this tool:-

If a sketch have both path and profile then sweep tool is applicable on it.

To learn completely the sweep tool we should follow the following steps:-

·        First go to sketch window of solid-work while choosing a front plane as a reference plane.

·        Now draw a sketch on it which acts as a path in sweep.

·        Go to another plane which must be intersecting the sketch from midpoint.

·        Draw a small sketch on this point which acts as a profile for the solid-work tool.

·        Now manage the center point of the path according to the profile of the sketch.

·        Then go to the sweep option and select the path for the sweep.

·        After selecting the path, select the profile for the slot.

·        Now it demand some option like:- pitch value, no. of turns for helix.

·        After satisfy all these point your 3D model is ready for use.

Pitch: - A pitch is defining as the center distance b/w the two threads.

The main application of the sweep tool is:-

·       To draw helical shaped bodies, like spring, shocker, hydraulic weight lifter etc.

·       To draw the pipe line structure.

·       To draw the flanges for the pipe bending.
