What is PAD in CATIA

Catia stands on a computer Aided three dimensional Interactive Application software.CATIA is basically a surface modeling software  which is mainly used by the most of the MNC companies like:-Boeing, HAL, Air force jet modeling etc.

This software contains the verities of tools. In which PAD is one of the tool.

It is a 3D modeling tool, which is mainly used to convert a 2D sketch into the 3d.it is also call as a material adding in a 2d sketch, after extruding a sketch u can apply a verity of colors and materials on it.

To learn this tool let’s we follow a way for that:-

:- Make a 2D rectangle using front plane in the solid works.     

:-Now, go to the extrude tool select the height of extrude and then press ok

:- Extrude toolbar is also contain some other features like-draft, flip direction, mirror and multi pads.

Draft:- it means flip the object at some angle either contras or expand.

Flip Direction:- which mean to extrude the object either in positive direction or in negative direction.

Mirror:- it means to commonly extrude the object in both directions.

Multi pad:- it means to select the multiple sketches in one time so that they all can extrude in one time.
