What is revolve in solid works

A solid works is a 3D part modeling software, which is mainly cover the design of heavy machinery parts designing like the CNC machine parts, their assembly , truck –cars chassis etc.Revolve is a member of part modeling module.A revolve toolbar is mainly use to convert a 2d sketch into the revolve feature.To learn how it work let we study the following steps.·      Go to the reference plane option of the solid works and chose the front plane as a reference plane for working.
·      Now, draw a sketch on it.
·      Then move on 3d window and select the revolve tool.
·      Now, chose the axis of rotation of the sketch to make it revolve.
·      Enter the angel of rotation to rotate the sketch.
·      It is lies b/w 0-360.
·      We can also select the contour option which means we revolve one or multiple sketch in one time.
·      In solid works open sketch can also be revolve but  that will create a surface modeling sketch which contain no volume.
