What is shaft in CATIA?

 CATIA   stands on Computer Aided Three dimensional Interactive Application.

Shaft is a part of part modeling Module.

In this tool we will learn how to convert a 2d sketch into the revolve feature with certain angle of rotation.

To completely know about this tool let we follow the following steps:-

·       Open the drafting window of the catia.

·       Now, go to sketch and draw a sketch with certain axis.

·       Exit the sketch bar and enter into the 3d window of catia.

·       Chose the shaft tool to rotate the sketch.

·        In the window of shaft click firstly the axis option and then select the axis line of the sketch.

·       Then go to the option angle of rotation and enter the rotation angle for sketch. It is vary from 0-360.

·       You can make the multiple sketches to be rotate with shaft tool, but there is a condition of open sketch/close sketch.

·        If revolving sketch is open then shaft tool will never work and show an error of open sketch, so revolve either a single sketch or multi sketch the sketch must be close.
